Manaslu Round and Larke La Pass Trekking in Nepal


Manaslu Circuit Trek is a remote land beautiful Nepal’s Mid West Himalaya of Nepal. Trekking here will be very exciting and cultural journey high valleys of upper Manaslu. Our daily walk leads us to traditional Manaslu tribal villages of originated from Tibet. We fully need to trek on wilderness. It includes a forest of rhododendron, pines, magnolia, oaks and fir trees. It offers us panoramic massive views of Mt. Manaslu (8163 m), Mt. Machhapuchhre (6998 m) Himalchuli (6441 m), Annapurna I (8091 m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Mt. Nilgiri (7041 m) and many more surrounding mountain ranges. It is from warm subtropical to alpine cool temperatures and to Arctic zone of ice and glaciers. The perfect time to trek in this region is from the month of April to June and September to November. We start our Manaslu circuit trek with an exciting drive to Soti Khola. Our destinations are the very isolated area. From here we follow the raging Buri Gandaki River. It is faded from the glacier of Manaslu Mountains. Walking further many river sources can be seen around the high land of Manaslu area. For our night we will settle down in many villages according to the itinerary. The villages are in the most remote area of Nepal. We will not have enough facility. We may have to spend our night in tented camp. This will give a real experience of trekking. In this way, we will end our trek at Jagat and drive to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu 1,315m | 4,270ft and transfer o hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Day 03: Drive to Soti Khola 730 m via Arughat 600m – 07 hrs journey.
Day 04: Trek to Machha Khola 930m – 06 hrs
Day 05: Trek to Jagat 1,410m – 06 hrs
Day 06: Trek to Dyang 1,800 m – 06 hrs
Day 07: Trek to Ghap 2,160 m – 04 hrs
Day 08: Trek to Lho 3,180 m – 06 hrs
Day 09: Trek to Samagaon 3,530 m – 05 hrs
Day 10: Rest day in Samagaon for acclimatization.
Day 11: Trek to Samdo 3,860 m – 05 hrs
Day 12: Trek to Dharmasala / Larkya Phedi 4,460 m – 04 hrs
Day 13: Cross Larkya la 5,106 m and descend to Bhimtang 3,720m – 08 hrs.
Day 14: Trek to Gho 2,560 m – 05 hrs
Day 15: Trek to Dharapani 1,860 m – 06 hrs.
Day 16: Trek to Chamje near another village called Jagat 1,290 m – 05 hrs.
Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu – 06 hrs.
Day 18: International departure for homeward bound.

Details Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu 1,327 m and transfer to hotel.
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representatives from Everest Trekking Routes will welcome you. He/she will asset you and transfer you to the hotel for your overnight.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with a sightseeing tour and trek preparations.
Today, you will do a day tour in Kathmandu valley. In morning time you will visit Pashupatinath (oldest and holy Hindu temple), Bauddhanath (Buddhist temple is known as little Tibet), and Swayambhunath (monkey temple). Finishing this we return for lunch. After lunch, you will visit Kathmandu durbar square and Patan Durbar square. In Kathmandu durbar square you will visit Kumari temple (temple of the living goddess).
Day 03: Drive to Soti Khola 730 m via Arughat 600m - 07 hrs journeys.
Having breakfast we start our Manaslu Circuit Trek and drive to Arughat. It is a border of Dhading and Gorkha district. In an around 7 to 8 hours we reach Arughat. Resting some moment we take another vehicle to Soti Khola. We follow the raging Budi Gandaki River and reach first night stop at Soti-Khola. It is a small farm village.
Day 04: Trek to Machha Khola 930 m - 05 hrs.
Early morning walk leads to river banks through a number of small tea shops. We come across mule trains to Machhakhola. We resume using the Nepalese traditional stone paved staircase. Then we cross Nauli Khola (stream). Here we get cascading views of waterfalls and reach Khanigaon. From here we walk few hours and lead us to a bridge over Machha Khola. Crossing the suspension bridge we ascend down to Machha Khola village for the night.
Day 05: Trek to Jagat 1,410 m - 06 hrs.
From Macha Khola our next journey is Jagat. In morning we walk through Buri Gandaki river upstream reaching small village Khorla Beshi. Then we walk the gradual winding path and reach Tato pain with natural hot spring water near the forested area. Resting some moment we leave Donovan and Yaruphant villages. We follow the Buri Gandaki River and cross the short suspension bridge over Jagat village for the night.
Day 06: Trek to Dying 1,800 m - 06 hrs.
Resuming our trek we follow the river and pass a number of small villages. Crossing the village we have a short climb and descend. Then we get a small suspension bridge at Nugget. Crossing this we reach Philip. Resting some time we walk through golden fields and terrace of wheat’s and barley, up the rocky ridge and through bamboo forests and reach Dying village for the night.
Day 07: Trek to Ghap 2,160 m - 04 hrs.
Here you can observe Tibetan culture, as we walk higher and higher. Gentle downhill to riverbank crossing raging river we reach Bihi Bazaar. It is a small settlement with shops and tea stalls. Resting some moment we are close to Tibetan frontier. Walking a few hours we reach Gap village. Here we can observe Tibetan Buddhism culture all the way to Larkya la and up to Dharapani village.
Day 08: Trek to Lo 3,180 m - 06 hrs
In morning we have a pleasant walk to the Budhi Gandaki River. We cross the river which leads through a number of scattered small farm huts and villages cultivated with terraced fields of millets, wheat’s or barley. Then we pass Numrung village which offers awesome North Face views of Mt. Manaslu and some other snow-capped peaks. Enjoying this we continue our trek to Lo Bazaar for our night.
Day 09: Trek to Samagaon 3,530 m - 06 hrs.
Lho village offers stunning sunrise over magnificent Mt. Manaslu. We enjoy this moment with our breakfast. Having breakfast we continue our trek to Samagaon. It is one of the largest villages of upper Manaslu area. Our walk goes through a forest of rhododendron, juniper, firs and pines trees. Then we leave this and walk tree lines uphill for few hours and reach Samagaon village for our night.
Day 10: Rest day in Samagaon for acclimatization.
Continuously trekking for many days we need a rest. It’s according to trekking expert. It is helpful to match our self with the weather as we are heading higher altitude day by day. We will not only sit here. Samagaon is a big village so our whole day is spent visiting the village. We will explore the nice village of Tibetan culture and traditions.
Day 11: Trek to Samdo 3,860 m - 05 hrs
Having a wonderful time at Samagaon we again continue our trek to Samda. Morning walk goes through the exposed valley of few rhododendron and juniper bushes. Treeline disappears in higher altitude. Slowly we head to Manaslu Glacier offering a view of Birendra Lake. It is much closer to Tibet border. We continue following the stream and reach Samdo village for our night.
Day 12: Trek to Dharmasala / Larkya phedi 4,460m - 04 hrs.
Today we have a short walk to the base of Larkya La pass. In morning we follow glacier fed icy river and cross a stream coming from Gya La. From here our route diverts to Larkya Bazaar known as Dharmasala. In the early days of the 1960’s a flourishing trade used to take place between Nepal and Tibet till China invaded Tibet. This is why this place still called as Larkya Bazaar. Having a few hours of gentle walk lead us to Dharamsala where we spend our night.
Day 13: Cross Larkya la 5,106 m and descend to Bhimthang 3,720m -08 hrs.
It’s going to be a tough day for us as we are going to cross Larkya la pass. We start our trek a bit early. We climb over a high ridge and reach four frozen ponds. Again we climb higher at top of Larkya La Pass (5,200 m / 17,060 ft). From the top, we enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Manaslu, Larkya peak, Himlung Himal and Ganesh Himal to eastern horizon. Resting some moment we again continue our trek to Bhimtang for overnight.
Day 14: Trek to Gho 2,560 m - 05 hrs.
Walking hardly on the previous day, we get an easy walk from here. We gradual get the downhill path. Our walk goes enchanting and pristine forest of rhododendron, oaks and pines trees. We are offered with beautiful surrounding landscapes and rolling hills. After a pleasant walk, we reach a temporary settlement of Gho. Here we have an overnight stop.
Day 15: Trek to Dharapani 1,860 m - 05 hrs.
Our today’s destination is Dharapani. Morning walk leads us through the densely forested area. It has summer pasture. This wonderful walk reaches a nice village of Tiliche. It is just by the bank of Marsyangdi River. It is below the Dharapani village. A steep climb for an hour crossing bridge over the Marsyangdi River leads us to Dharapani village.
Day 16: Trek to Chamje near another village called Jagat 1,290 m - 05 hrs.
After breakfast, we continue our trek to Chamje. We follow several villages i.e. Tal Besi, Tal Karte, and Seattle. Walking a few hours we get winding trail. We cross a suspension bridge. It offers us superb views of Annapurna mountain ranges to the west. Then we resume our walk into the lovely forest through the river bank of Marshyangdi River. In this way, we reach Chamje village for the night.
Day 17:  Drive back to Kathmandu - 07 hrs.
We catch the morning view of snow-clad peaks. At first, we drive up to Besisahar and from Besi Sahar, we again take the bus to Kathmandu. Our whole drive goes for 7 to 8 hours. Reaching on Kathmandu, you can do last minute shopping in Kathmandu. At night we celebrate Farewell Dinner together with the trekking team.
Day 18: Final International departure homeward bound.
Now it’s time to say goodbye to the Kathmandu. Your journey in Nepal comes to an end today. You are transferred to the airport for your returning flight. Have a safe journey. Hope you will return back to Nepal again.
